The Nintendo Switch Really Did Help Numerous Franchises Like Metroid, Pikmin and Xenoblade Chronicles

One thing we’ve constantly noted about the Nintendo Switch is that it wasn’t just a “gaming machine,” or even one that had truly high-end 1st party titles, but that it gave certain franchises the room to grow and expand in ways that made the series more accessible and fun to gamers. During the recent financial briefing, plenty of information was dropped about all sorts of topics. However, one slide (the fourth picture in the tweet below) is of particular interest to it.

As you’ll see, there is a slide highlighting the Pikmin, Kirby, Metroid and Xenoblade Chronicles franchises, and comparing the sales they had on Nintendo Switch to the COMBINED sales they had on the Wii U and 3DS.

As you can see, the Switch numerous are truly greater by a large multiplier, and it shows how many people played these games on the system. So, why was this system the best for these series? It’s possible that it was the changes to the core gameplay that helped reach new people, or, it could be that the massive number of Switch units sold ensured that there were people out there curious about the games, and thus they wanted to play them. We can’t say for certain, but this high benchmark is what many want with the Switch 2.

Oh, and they also want to see this kind of increase happen with F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Golden Sun, Donkey Kong and other franchises that need a “shot in the arm!”
