Valve to Launch Steam Deck in Australia This November 2024

By Keith MitchellOctober 10, 2024
Valve's Steam Deck looks amazing, but when can we own one?

After years of waiting and frustration, our gaming friends in the Land Down Under will finally be able to get their hands on Valve’s Steam Deck—officially! The announcement comes after VR enthusiast Brad Lynch spotted the device at PAX AUS 2024, confirming that the Steam Deck will be launching in Australia in November 2024. This release comes two years after the Steam Deck debuted in North America.

All three versions of the Steam Deck will be available: the 256GB LCD ($649), the 512GB OLED ($899), and the 1TB OLED ($1,049). However, there was no mention of whether the limited edition 1TB Steam Deck will also be released.

While it’s great to see that Australians will finally be able to purchase a Steam Deck with a warranty, the prices are quite high. Although Australia is a wonderful place to visit, these prices are exactly why our buddy here at The Outerhaven constantly complains about how expensive anything gaming-related can be.
