Naruto Anime to Stream for Free on Amazon Freevee

By Josh PiedraAugust 27, 2024

It was announced that the original Naruto anime is set to stream around the clock for free on Amazon Freevee as well as on-demand on Prime Video.

Naruto will receive its own dedicated FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) channel on Freevee as a result of a deal inked between Amazon and VIZ Media. VIZ Media made the deal due to the increasing demand for channels dedicated to a single intellectual property. With a major name like Naruto, Amazon made the deal so that they could expand their anime catalog to compete with other streaming services such as Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix, in the anime market.

Ahead of the launch, JP Villanueva, senior director of digital distribution at Viz Media, said,

“With the launch of a dedicated linear channel and VOD offerings, fans can now experience the iconic adventures of Naruto Uzumaki around the clock. This addition not only enriches Freevee’s anime library but also provides an exciting new way for fans to engage with one of the most celebrated anime franchises.”

Pokemon and Sailor Moon have already received similar treatment. No premiere date for the channel has been given at this time.
