During the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Halo: Campaign Evolved was shown off and it looks rather impressive. Unlike Gears of War E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, Halo: Campaign Evolved was previously announced for PS5 and it’s still coming to that system, alongside Xbox and PC. The game will release on July 28, 2026 with up to five days of early access beginning July 23 for Premium Edition and Collector’s Edition owners. Pre-orders are available now at XBOX, Steam, and PlayStation with the Collector’s Edition available on HaloWaypoint.
Included with every edition of Halo: Campaign Evolved, Operation: METEORITE is a new three-mission story arc that takes place a year before the events of the first game. Featuring the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson, this new adventure sends players behind enemy lines in a clandestine UNSC operation aboard a Covenant research vessel. What starts as a simple smash and grab turns more complicated as they encounter more than they bargained for.
The story was developed in collaboration with award-winning sci-fi author Troy Denning, whose work has helped shape some of the most memorable corners of the Halo universe across multiple acclaimed novels. His involvement helped us ground Operation: METEORITE in the tone, stakes, and military sci-fi texture that players expect from Halo.
Those who know one of our Gaming Editors Jordan Andow will not be surprised that he is greatly interested in the collectors edition of Halo: Campaign Evolved. Unfortunately for him, it seems to already be out of stock, so I guess he isn’t the only one who was excited by the Master Chief statue and the other goodies you get in the collectors edition.

Halo: Campaign Evolved launches July 28, 2026, with up to five days of early access beginning July 23, 2026. The game supports cross-play and cross-progression across XBOX Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5, and will be available day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
