Street Fighter 6: Here Comes Season 2 Challengers

By Kevin KellyJune 7, 2024

SNK’s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui seem to be coming to Street Fighter 6 as guest characters. Unlike Smash Bros, Mai Shiranui is considered “good for everyone teen” for her appearance. As to how they both will play, no kits have been revealed yet. Just an animation of Mai, Terry, Luke, and Jamie. Fatal Fury is getting lots of love from their 90s rival through this crossover. How Mai and Terry came to appear here has yet to be revealed in the trailer.

Terry Bogard’s been doing the rounds for crossovers. With Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Fighting EX Layer covered, it feels like it’s high time for the Lone Wolf to step back into the Street Fighter 6 scene. Mai Shiranui has been a repeat guest contestant for Dead or Alive in both Tecmo titles Dead Or Alive 5 and Dead Or Alive 6. It’s assumed that both fighters will be similar to their current iterations from King of Fighters XV and Mark of the Wolves. Here’s me praying for Mai Shiranui costume change victory poses/intros already. At least her appearance was very ninja-like. Ken Masters and Chun-Li are going to have some “fun” with these two.

Street Fighter 6: Potential Dream Matches

Both characters have not been seen in a Capcom game since Capcom Vs. SNK 2. Before Capcom and SNK were able to solidify a fourth entry on the Capcom end, SNK went bankrupt and Playmore took over. SNK did rename themselves back to their original name back in 2016. The series itself has received high praise and accommodated both sides of the fight with mechanics to mimic gameplay mechanics from King of Fighters, Samurai Showdown, Mark of the Wolves, and other SNK fighting games. In a sense, both Capcom and SNK seem to be making good on their talks and reveal last Evo Las Vegas about collaborating again. Coincidentally, SNK vs Capcom: Match Of the Millennium did get a re-release to Switch recently.

Elena has been missing since Super Street Fighter IV. The Capoeira fighter seems to look a bit different from her original look. And M. Bison, assumed dead post the events of The Shadow Falls, looks like he’s been in a shadow himself. There could be speculation that it’s possibly Bison taking over another current Shadowloo associate. Well, JP, who has ties to Psycho Power.

The release of these characters in Street Fighter 6 are as follows:

M. Bison – Summer 2024
Terry – Autumn 2024
Mai – Winter 2025
Elena – Spring 2025
