Japan’s Number one Kunoichi, Mai Shiranui, makes her appearance on The King of Fighters XV.
The trailer released this week showing her off in action. Needless to say, many good boys and girls have been looking forward to her. The poster girl of KOF. Her grace and beauty is retained here and boy she looks stunning. From her signature attacks of Ryuuembu and Shinobi Bachi, to her special of Houou no Mai, you can see why she proclaims herself as Japan’s number one women.
As with every character trailer, Character Designer Tomohiro Nakata shared his thought process on Twitter of Mai’s design. The statement is as follows:
Tomohiro has noted in other character trailers how he retains each recognizable look while adding more to show an evolution to each character, like with King’s specials or Yuri Sakazaki’s braid hairstyle. It will be interesting to see what is the next part of her story as well as her ongoing relationship with Andy Bogard. Will she finally claim his heart? Time will only tell.
Now if only Masahiro Sakurai can put her in Smash Bros. Ultimate…
The King Of Fighters XV is in development and set for a 2021 release. The systems that it will be playable on have not been revealed as of yet.
