Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut heads to PC on May 16th

Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut

The rumors of Ghost of Tsushima, one of PlayStation’s most ambitious titles and a favorite among fans, coming to the PC have been getting louder. And now, PlayStation has confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima is heading to the PC. Called “Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut,” also released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation, it will include the Iki Island expansion and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode.

This port won’t be a barebones port, as Sucker Punch has been working alongside Nixxes, the development studio that is the shining star of PC porting that PlayStation acquired. Thanks to the efforts of both studios, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will include several upgrades and enhancements, such as ultrawide monitor support (21:9 and 32:9 resolutions), unlocked frame rates, DualSense controller with haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support, and upscaling tech with Nvidia’s DLAA/DLSS and AMD’s FSR 3.

As a PC Gamer (though I enjoy my consoles), this is fantastic news as we’ll get to enjoy one of the better 1st party PlayStation games released in the past five years. I’m looking forward to playing this for the first time… yes, I skipped playing it on the PS5. Playing this on my ultrawide monitor is going to be sweet. I can not wait.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is an action-adventure game set in feudal Japan. Protagonist Jin Sakai was raised and trained in the ways of the samurai. His world is shattered when a Mongol invasion defeats the samurai army of his home on Tsushima island, and he is faced with a difficult decision: honor the tradition and customs of his upbringing and maintain a fight he cannot win, or deviate from his samurai path to protect the island and its people by any means necessary.

We reviewed Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut for the PS5 and thought it was one of the most beautiful games of 2020. It brought with it a wealth of improvements and secrets that players can spend hours unraveling, and was a worthwhile upgrade over the base game.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is available on the PS5 and will be available for the PC as of May 16, 2024.
