How to beat the Scrapped Watchman in Lies of P

By Chris PenwellSeptember 18, 2023
The Scrapped Watchman in Lies of P

The Scrapped Watchman in Lies of Pis is one of the first bosses you’ll face in the game, and my goodness, it’s a lot to take in. Lightning strikes across the arena. This boss also leaps high into the air and tries to slam down its body on top of Pinocchio. Here’s how to beat the Scrapped Watchman in Lies of P and get its loot.

The Scrapped Watchman in Lies of P – first phase tactics

The Scrapped Watchman Lies of P boss fight has a lot of tricks up its sleeves

Before getting into the fight, look to the left of the entrance. There’s a blue fountain that allows you to summon an AI companion called a specter for the battle. There’s no multiplayer included in Lies of P, but the AI is actually quite helpful. You just have to use a Star Fragment, which can be dropped by enemies or in chests.

The Scrapped Watchman in Lies of P will first charge at you like a monkey, swinging its giant hands on the puppet protagonist. Block them with your weapon or move out of the way. Thankfully, the boss will give you enough time to prepare. If you see it creaking its head, get ready for the attack. If you see it turn red, be sure to parry it perfectly or run away as fast as you can.

It will focus some of its energy on the specter during this battle. When this occurs, strike it as much as you can with your weapon.

When you see the Scrapped Watchman, leap into the air, and get ready to dodge to the left or the right. It’s fairly easy to dodge if you time it right. I never got hit by it.

How electrifying!

Scrapped Watchman Lies of P boss fight

When the Scrapped Watchman in Lies of P hits half health, it will release a wave of electricity. If you get hit, you’ll be struck with an Electric Shock. You do not want that purple meter to go 100% full. Otherwise, the element will shock through Pinocchio, slowing him down.

It will also grab your specter friend and slam him to the ground multiple times. While this occurs, get behind the boss and keep hitting it. The bar should turn white around this point. Hold down the strong attack button, and it will get knocked out.

To get a critical hit on the Scrapped Watchman during this moment, hold down the light attack button and strike its face. You’ll deal a lot of damage if you can pull this off.

As you’re fighting this enemy, make sure not to stand in his electricity pools on the ground. It will hurt Pinocchio and increase the Electric Shock meter. It will occasionally rain down lightning strikes. When this happens, try to run away from the mechanical monster until the storm weakens.

After a few intense minutes, you should be able to eliminate the Scrapped Watchman. It will drop an Overcharged Storage Battery, Broken Hero’s Ergo (that has 5,000 Ergo to extract from it), a Core, and one Quartz. Now, you can continue your journey in Lies of P.
