New ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Trailer Pits Mario vs Donkey Kong

The Super Mario Bros. Movie - Mario wears the Cat Suit

During January 29th’s NFL Football games, a new ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘ Trailer was aired, entitled “Smash.”

In this new trailer, we saw Mario powering up with the Cat Suit, turning him into Cat Mario. Fans of Super Mario Bros. games will recognize that this is the same Cat Suit that debuted in Super Mario 3D World for the Nintendo Wii U, in 2013. Ah, the memories.

This trailer is also the first time we get to hear Seth Rogen voice Donkey Kong, who laughs at Mario, then tells him, “Now you die.” I don’t know if Donkey Kong knows that the Cat Suit is pretty fierce. Those claws are no joke.

Many are already calling this the best video game adaptation movie yet. While I’m not so sure yet (we haven’t even seen it yet), it definitely has the potential.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie debuts in theaters on April 7, 2023, and I’m waiting for the day I can purchase tickets so I can give it a watch.
