Fire Emblem Engage Trailer Brings New Details About Emblem Rings!

By Todd BlackNovember 23, 2022
Fire Emblem Engage

When the Emblem Rings were revealed as a key mechanic for Fire Emblem Engage, many people wanted to know what they were like, who we would command, and what we could do with them. The answers have trickled out since its announcement, but now, we have a much deeper understanding of the rings. A new trailer has gone into depth about their abilities and powers, and it will indeed change how you view strategy in the title.

Simply put, each of the rings contains the spirit of an “Emblem,” a hero from a past age. Simply equipping one of the rings to your characters will increase their stats and grant them access to special abilities.  But as the trailer notes, it goes far beyond that. You’ll be able to “Engage” with the heroes to get a fused form. In that form, you’ll have access to new weapons, abilities, and special attacks to take out foes.

Even some of the more basic abilities can greatly help you in battle. Sigurd can extend the range of your characters and then damage a line of foes via “Overdrive.” Lyn can ensure enemies don’t counterattack and strike them from incredible distances. Corrin can change the battlefield’s terrain and blast foes with special water attacks. While Corrin can boost your allies stats and give them a second turn!

Plus, all the characters in your party can wield these rings, opening up LOTS of options for you! Check out the full trailer below, and get Fire Emblem Engage when it arrives on Nintendo Switch on January 20th!
