One Piece Odyssey Gets Dev Diary

By Scott AdamsJune 30, 2022
Development Diary One Piece Odyssey

Those of you who are fans of One Piece have some good news from the developers of One Piece Odyssey, they are One Piece fans too.

The discussion behind the battle mechanics of it being a turn based RPG with focusing the gameplay on demonstrating the unique abilities of each party member reminds me of Final Fantasy X. Each party member had a very unique way to play them and was usually focused on fighting specific enemies the best. I do appreciate some of the One Piece features though like Sanji being stunned by fighting women or by Zoro having the map blurred out.

They also showed them going the extra mile in design by comparing it to the manga and focusing it on the feel and aesthetic of Oda. I hope that it encapsulates the vision of this team well.

One Piece Odyssey is stated to release in 2022 on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, and PC.
