Goat Simulator 3 Trolls the Summer Game Fest with Reveal Trailer

By Andrew AgressJune 9, 2022
Goat Simulator 3 Reveal Trailer

Today at the Summer Game Fest, Coffee Stain Studios pulled the wool over all our collective eyes with a trailer for Goat Similar 3. Much like the goat at the center of first game, the announcement proved chaotic. First off, what happened to Goat Simulator 2? To paraphrase the great Rick Moranis, this is essentially Goat Simulator 3: The Search for Goat Simulator 2.

But that’s not the only area of misdirection. When the trailer debuted, I initially wondered why the Summer Game Fest decided to reveal Dead Island 2 by reusing the original trailer. Why? Well, here’s the new trailer for Goat Simulator 2. Sorry, I mean Goat Simulator 3:

We’ve all seen it? Okay, great. Now here’s the 2014 trailer for Dead Island 2:

So why would Coffee Stain Studios pull this stunt? And more importantly, would you rather have to live through the zombie apocalypse or a goat apocalypse? These are the important questions for today. Well, to answer the first, it’s likely because Dead Island 2 has yet to release after its announcement back in 2014, but Goat Simulator 3 will beat it to the proverbial punch when it arrives this year. As for the second question, I leave that one up to you.

But that’s not the only surprise that Goat Simulator 3 offers. The sequel will also offer both online and local co-op, where players can either herd around as a team or “compete in mini-games and then not be friends anymore.”

Goat Simulator 3 will arrive on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S this coming fall. The Summer Game Fest also showcased new gameplay for The Callisto Protocol and TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. But it was hard to beat, or dare I say bleat, this reveal.
