That ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ trailer is looking mighty good

During The Game Awards 2021, Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey presented the one movie trailer that we all wanted. Yes, the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ trailer, and damn, the wait was worth it.

Picking up after the first movie, Sonic is enjoying the life of playing the hero. He’s even got a cool superhero name; Blue Justice (Trademark pending). Saving people, stopping the bad guys, and well, life is good. That is until his nemesis, Dr. Robotnik, makes his return,, and he’s looking for revenge. Except, he’s not alone, and he’s got a new friend in tow — Knuckles the Echidna. But he’s not the only one who’s got a new friend, as fan-favorite from the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 game is also making his debut; Miles Prowler. The race is on to stop the baddies before they the emerald gem that has the power to destroy the world.

From the filmmakers behind The Fast and the Furious and Deadpool, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carrey returning, alongside new additions Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.

Just tell me when I can get my damned tickets, ok! As a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan, I loved the first movie, and I’ve been waiting for the follow-up!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 arrives in theaters on April 8, 2022.
