Recap of Kodansha’s Announcements at Anime NYC

By Josh PiedraNovember 21, 2021

Our own Matthew Paul was on the ground at Anime NYC and reported to me live during the Kodansha industry panel at the event! Apparently, Kodansha went in pretty hard with their announcements so here is a recap of what we have learned from the panel!

Kodansha kicked things off by announcing Berserk Deluxe Edition Vol. 9. The volume has arrived at comic shops and will soon follow at bookstores on Tuesday, November 23. This new volume will be a collection of volumes 25, 26, and 27 of the manga and will contain three color posters.

Next, they announced The Best of Attack on Titan Vol. 1. This will be a full-color compilation of some of the best chapters from Hajime Isayama’s manga series. The collection is set to arrive in January 2022 while the Attack on Titan: The Final Season manga set comes out next month in December. The set will contain volumes 23-28.

Kodansha then offered up some new digital releases including the following:

  • My Master Has no Tail – December 7
  • Shaman King & a Garden – December 14
  • My Darling the Company President – December 21st
  • Her Majesty’s Swarm – December 28

Next, they ran down a slate of releases that are due out in Fall 2022 which include:

  • Wistoria: Wand on Sword
  • Go Go Loser Ranger!
  • Run away with me, Girl
  • Shonen Note: Boy Soprano
  • As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll use my appraisal skill to rise on the world
  • The ice blade sorcerer shall rule the world
  • In the Clear Moonlit Dusk
  • Shangri-la Frontier
  • I was reincarnated as the 8th prince, so I’ll take my time perfecting my magical ability
  • PTSD Radio 4 volume series printed in 2 omnibus books

Kodansha then detailed some new box sets that are due out “soon.” They include:

  • Sweat and Soap
  • Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku
  • Rent-a-Girlfriend
  • Noragami (Omnibus)
  • Fire Force (Omnibus)
  • The Ghost in the Shell – Fully Compiled Edition (Contains all of 1.5 and 2.0)
  • No. 6 (Omnibus)

And finally, Kodansha went over some brand-new manga… all of which are set to launch by Fall 2022

  • Miss Miyazxen Would Love to Get Closer to You
  • Avant-garde Yumeko
  • An Older Guy’s VR First Love
  • Noise
  • No Longer Human (Complete Edition)
