AnimeLab is Sunsetting in Australia and New Zealand on December 9

By Josh PiedraNovember 3, 2021

It was announced by Funimation that AnimeLab, a streaming service that has been a big part of Australia and New Zealand, is being sunsetted on December 9. All AnimeLab accounts are being grandfathered into Funimation’s streaming service. Funimation states that you can log into their service using your AnimeLab credentials right now.

They did state; however, that the “majority” of AnimeLab’s content will be available on Funimation but they were keen to not say “all” of its content. Funimation has not stated what content will be missing from their streaming service that fans of AnimeLab have access to today.

Funimation also made the following statement about the transition:

AnimeLab was proudly built from the ground up by a team of Aussie anime fans, who sought to bring a stellar streaming platform to the local community. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the last 8 years. A new era is upon us now as we venture into the global anime community in collaboration with our Funimation teammates – we look forward to bringing you on this journey with us.
