Ubisoft is Finally Making a New Splinter Cell Game After Almost a Decade

By Camilo OlmedoOctober 19, 2021
Splinter Cell

After nearly a decade of nothing but random mobile games, VR titles, and various guest appearances in other games that no one asked for, Ubisoft is reportedly working on a new installment in the Splinter Cell franchise. A report from VGC stated that a source close to the project confirmed that a new mainline entry is currently very early in development. Not much else is currently known about the title but all we have to go off is that it is in fact a proper new installment.

The series itself has been mostly dormant since the release of Splinter Cell: Blacklist back in 2013. Fans of the franchise have been begging for nearly 10 years at this point for a proper entry for the franchise. It looks like Ubisoft was listening and something is finally on the way. It also seems as though they also learned what people want from Splinter Cell and are giving us more than bread crumbs like Sam Fisher being playable in Rainbow Six: Siege or an anime series no one asked for.

Fingers crossed that we don’t get Splinter Cell Royale.
