Dying Light 2 Stay Human delayed until Feb 2022

Add another game that’s been delayed to 2022. This time around, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, a title that’s already seen several delays, has been pushed back. Again. Techland has recently sent out a round of emails stating that the game would be pushed from its 2021 release date and is still slated to be released on February 4th, 2022.

In this email, a statement from Techland’s own CEO, Pawel Marchewka, made the hard choice to delay the game. This is what the full statement reads;

Hello Everyone,

Today, we have important news to share with you about the development process on Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

It has always been our company’s foal to build transparent and honest communication with our community, fans, and gamers. Every day, we strive to grow in this element.

The team is steadily progressing with the production and the game is nearing the finish line. The game is complete and we are currently playtesting it. It is by far the biggest and the most ambitious project we’ve ever done. Unfortunately, we’ve realized for us to bring the game to the level we envision, we need more time to polish and optimize it.

That is why we have decided to move the release date to February 4th, 2022.

We are sorry to keep you all waiting a little longer, but w want the game to meet your highest expectations on release and we don’t want to compromise on this.

However, you won’t have to wait longer to get a deeper look at Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Next month, both press and content creators will get their hands on the PC and console versions of the game during the upcoming series of preview events account the world. They’ll be able to share their experiences of The City with you.

In the meanwhile, we would like to thank all of our fans around the world – without your support and feedback, we would never have come this far on this journey.

In addition to our regular updates, we’ll be gearing up to share some exciting news about the game later this month.

Stay Stay, and Stay Human.

Again, it’s frustrating to see that yet another title has been delayed. Yet, we all know and have repeatedly seen what happens to games (and companies) that are released way before they’re ready. So to Techland, I say that all the time you need. Your previews at the recent gaming events have impressed me, and if you need more time to get the game to where you want it to be, I’ll be here, waiting.

That said, this does lump Dying Light 2 Stay Human into an already gaming-packed month. Off the top of my head, here are a few games that will be released that month;

  • Sifu
  • Saints Row reboot
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
  • KOF 15

I’m sure I’m missing a few and that also doesn’t account for any upcoming games that could potentially be delayed to the same month. February 2022 is going to be stacked for gaming, but you don’t see me complaining one bit. Well, maybe my bank account, but not me.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human releases on Feb. 4th, 2022, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
