Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings Of Ruin Has Already Surpassed Sales Of Original

By Todd BlackAugust 13, 2021
Monster Hunter Stories 2

Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings Of Ruin was always going to be a curious game release this year because of how close it was to the release of Monster Hunter Rise. Not to mention, the game is a sequel to a 3DS title that changed the formula of the franchise to be more of a turn-based RPG than anything else. However, the results of the games’ launch can’t be denied or ignored.

As we noted earlier, the game sold over 1 million copies in a short amount of time, but now, with the new NPD data, we know that it’s already surpassed the lifetime sales of the original game, by a multiplier of 3!

To be clear, it’s still unlikely that Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings Of Ruin will ever get near the sales of Monster Hunter Rise, but it’s honestly a goal of every game released in a franchise to try and surpass what the previous one did, and it’s done that for sure.
