Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin roadmap revealed

By Keith MitchellJuly 2, 2021
Monster Hunter Stories 2

Capcom hasn’t even released Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and yet the company has already detailed its post-launch plans for the game. Well, I can’t say that I can’t blame them for being ambitious, this looks to be an amazing game so far. Speaking of which, check out our impressions of the Monster Hunter Stories 2 demo.

As you can see by the roadmap below, new content will be released starting in July, until October 2021. The game will see new quests and monsties, including the Palamute from Monster Hunter Rise.

The first update will arrive on July 15, which will bring the Palamute from Monster Hunter Rise to the game. Update 2 arrives in August in the form of a new co-op quest exclusive monster Kulve Taroth and two more Monsties, Hellblade Glavenus and Boltreaver Astalos will be added.

Update 3 arrives in September and will bring three new Monsties; the Soulseer Mizutsune, the Elderfrost Gammoth, and the Oroshi Kirin. Update 4 in September adds Dreadking Rathalos and Molten Tigrex and a much tougher version of the co-op quest for the Kulve Taroth.

Finally, in October, we’ll see another co-op quest exclusive quest, details haven’t been released yet – but we do know it will a high difficulty quest. Both the Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian Monsties will be added to the game as well.

Keep in mind that each of these updates will be free on both platforms.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 DLC Roadmap

In addition to the roadmap news, a new gameplay trailer showing off the co-op gameplay has also been released. Co-op is supported both locally and online. Sadly, co-op is restricted to the same platform, so Switch players won’t be able to co-op with PC players and vice versa.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin launches for Nintendo Switch and on PC on July 9th, 2021.
