Forza Horizon 5 Releases This November 2021, Heading to Xbox Game Pass

Calling all my fellow racing fans, Forza Horizon 5 has officially been confirmed. Announced during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, Forza Horizon 5 will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Windows/Steam) on November 9th, 2021. Forza Horizon 5 will also head to Xbox Game Pass, which should make subscribers to the service very happy.

We also have confirmation that the next location for the series is Mexico. It’s not Australia or Japan, but New Mexico is still a nice place to get your fill of some sweet on and off-road racing. While Forza Horizon 5 releases on November 9th, if you purchase the Premium Edition, you’ll get early access starting November 5th. Experience Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10, Steam, Xbox Game Pass, and Android phones and tablets via Xbox Cloud Gaming. Players can choose from Standard, Deluxe, and Premium versions of the game. Xbox Game Pass players will have access to the Standard version, and if you purchase the Premium Add-Ons Bundle they can enjoy all the great DLC in the Premium version of the game, including Early Access.

Optimized for the Xbox Series X and S, Forza Horizon will feature 4K 30FPS on the Xbox Series X, and 1080p 30FPS on the Xbox Series S. Both will include an optional performance mode, bumping the frame rate to 60 and a Ray Tracing mode (only via Forzavista). For those unfamiliar with Forzavista, this is a mode that allows players to fully explore every aspect of the cars featured in the Forza games. It’s like shopping for a car, without dropping a serious amount of cash. For PC gamers, nothing has been said as to what we can expect. We know the game is headed to the PC, but we don’t know what hardware we’ll need. We’ll likely find out more when the game is closer to release. Needless to say, if you already have a powerful PC, you should be covered.

The announcement of Forza Horizon 5 also ends the drought, as the last title, Forza Horizon 4, released back in 2017.  As a huge fan of Forza Horizon (and Forza Motorsport), I can’t wait to get my hands on this. Forza Horizon 4 was one of my favorite games when it was released and I still take the game for a spin every so often. It’s going to be hard to go back to the game, now that the next chapter in the series has officially been revealed.

While we all saw the announcement, did you see the following gameplay footage? If not, check out the gameplay video below, and be sure to watch it in 4K if you can. And if you do, be prepared to drool, just not on your keyboard or controller.

Look for Forza Horizon 5 on November 9th, 2021 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Windows/Steam).
