Army Of The Dead Scores Huge Viewership On Netflix

By Todd BlackMay 28, 2021
Army Of The Dead

A lot of people were curious in how Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead film would fare on Netflix. He was riding a wave of momentum due to the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max (and loyal fans demanding to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse) and so this was going to be a curious release. Especially since it was his second zombie film and one with a new twist with it being a heist film during the zombie apocalypse.

Turns out, it was a big hit. Because in ONE WEEK, Netflix is reporting that Army of the Dead has been viewed in over 72 MILLION households:

72 million households are betting on dead.

The key metric here is “most popular films ever in its first 4 weeks”. We rarely hear about success after week one, further making Army of the Dead stand out from the pack. At present, the record is 99 million households via Extraction after four weeks. Many feel this could pass that if the momentum carries on.

Plus, this will give further credence to Netflix going and giving Zack the sequels and other things he’s hoping to do in order to build up this universe. Check out our review of the movie here!
