It’s a good day to be a Marvel fan! In the recent merger between Disney and Fox, there were many questions around what would happen to Fox’s Marvel properties, specifically the X-Men and Deadpool. And while we likely won’t see the X-Men anytime soon, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, has said Deadpool is coming back soon.

According to ColliderDeadpool 3 is in Disney’s works, and Ryan Reynolds will be back for it, along with an R rating. As Kevin Feige says:

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

Additionally, Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux, who produce and wrote for Bob’s Burgers, respectively, are writing the script. No word yet as to if Deadpool will be popping up in any other MCU films, but the possibility is there.

The bad news in all of this is that while Deadpool 3 has been confirmed, it likely won’t even start shooting until 2022, which means we still won’t be seeing the Merc with a Mouth on the silver screen for a while more.
