New Kirby Game Coming In 2021?

By Todd BlackDecember 30, 2020
Kirby: Star Allies

While there are many long-standing franchises in the Nintendo library, many forget that Kirby is one that has lasted a VERY long time and has a LOT of games under its belt. From consoles to handles and DLC content the franchise has done a lot more than you might think.

And 2021 (and 2022) are going to be big years for the series as it’ll be the 29th and 30 anniversaries of the games. As such, Kirby director Shinya Kumazaki is teasing big things to come…

“Though I can’t talk about our next game yet, HAL actually turned 40 this year! We’re trying to figure out what people want to see from us and what our next challenge should be. There are many things a creator can strive toward, and they’re all enjoyable. We’ll take that feeling and tackle 2021 head-on.
Kirby turns 29 in 2021. While fans enjoy our games and merch, we’ll be hard at work on the next project and I suspect it’ll be done before we know it. Please look forward to Kirby and everything else HAL has to offer in 2021!”

The series had an entry early on the Nintendo Switch life cycle via Kirby Star Allies and then did DLC games like Kirby Fighters 2 and such. But what comes next? We’ll have to wait and see!
