Travis Touchdown is In Smash Bros. Ultimate…as a Mii Costume

By William "Shadowz" KokOctober 3, 2020

Well, the dream has been burst. No More Heroes  Travis Touchdown will be coming to Smash Bros. Ultimate, but as a Mii Costume.

In today’s Sakurai demonstration for Steve from Minecraft, Nintendo unveiled the next round of Mii Costumes. To continue with the collaboration with Microsoft and Minecraft, Sakurai has created three more costumes from the series. One as a Creeper, another as the Pig, and lastly one as a full diamond armor set. Another outfit from a title long ago is The Tower of Druaga as the main character of Gil. That is a series I have not heard in a long while. Then we have another appearance from Bomberman. We already have an appearance from him as an assist trophy. For them to make a Mii costume alongside the assist trophy is an interesting move.

Then the last one, my favorite otaku assassin. Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes is confirmed for a Mii costume. There were many suspicions on his possible appearance since SUDA 51 said no comment in regards to Travis in Smash Bros. Now it is revealed he will only appear in a Mii costume. Dashing the hopes, as well as mines, of Travis Touchdown being a playable character.

Goichi Suda gave his thoughts on this and thanked Sakurai for bringing Travis, be it Mii Costume, into the game.

While I personally am bitter of this happening, I will accept this monkey’s paw of a wish and take the fact that Travis Touchdown is in Smash Bros. Whether it be playable character or a Mii costume. But for now, let me cry in my corner.

Smash Bros Ultimate is available now. Minecraft Steve and the Mii Costumes will be available on October 13.
