‘Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon’ Drops First Trailer, Release Date

By Sara Roncero-MenendezAugust 7, 2020

Ever since a sequel to Rumiko Takahashi’s Inuyasha was announced, there were so many questions. Who is the mother of Sesshomaru’s children? What evil will they face now that Naraku’s been long dead? Will we get to see our favorite heroes all grown up? What’s with those outfits? And while the new trailer answers basically none of those questions, we do get to see all the main characters in action:

The plot of Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon follows Towa Higurashi, one of Sesshomaru’s twin daughters who ends up separated from her family and traveling to modern day. She ends up being raised by Kagome’s brother Sota (hence the last name), living out her days as a modern, but hard-training girl. However, she finds a way back in time ten years later, back to the feudal era, to be reunited with her sister Setsuna, who has grown up to be a badass. A badass, mind you, that doesn’t even remember having a sister in the first place.

They are joined by Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter Moroha, who appears to have a powerful sword of some kind. We see, who I am assuming are, Sango and Miroku’s son, a grown-up Kohaku, and the poster features a mysterious red-headed woman and an unnamed tanuki.

The poster hold a few more mysteries. Why is Inuyasha turned away?  Where are Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo? And how the hell is Kaede still alive? Guess we’ll find out when the show starts airing…which is soon!

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon is set to premiere through VIZ sometime in October 2020.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
