Creepy Dolls and Dark Waters Await in ‘Haunting of Bly Manor’ Teaser

By Sara Roncero-MenendezAugust 31, 2020

As one of the most anticipated horror shows of 2020, The Haunting of Bly Manor has a lot to live up to. Mike Flanagan also has his reputation as a rising star in horror to uphold as well, so there’s a lot riding on it. But if the teaser is even half as creepy as the final product is, then we are in for one hell of a spooky ride:

In this teaser, we are treated to a number of unsettling images. Dolls that move on their own, people drowning, a doll house opening on its own, people screaming in closets, and even creepier than all that, a child shushing a rattling ghost that is, presumably, going to murder her. That is some next level sass on that small girl!

The Haunting of Bly Manor will follow several stories written by Henry James, most famously The Turn of the Screw. There’s no way to tell what time period this show will take place in, but there are some old cars and light fixtures that could point to the show being in an older time period, for at least some of it. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long to get our answers.

The Haunting of Bly Manor premieres on Netflix on October 9, 2020.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
