7-Minutes of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Extended Gameplay Demo, Launch Window Confirmed

By Keith MitchellAugust 27, 2020
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart Unnamed Female Character

Earlier today during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2020, Insomniac Games and PlayStation debuted a longer look at the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart for the PlayStation 5. Take a look at the gameplay for yourself below and if you’re able to watch it on a 4K display, please do so. It looks amazing.

While the game was first shown during the PlayStation 5 reveal, the little we saw was just an appetizer, with this latest showing being the main course. Over 7-minutes of gameplay, showing off various weapons, watching the world being invaded by creatures from other dimensions, with Ratchet and Clank moving through the other dimensions themselves. For those wondering, yes this is the same demo as the PS5 reveal – just uncut.

Sadly, the demo ends right at the same spot as the PS5 reveal, with the still unknown Lombax whose name isn’t Abby, showing up at the end.

And while we finally find out that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart isn’t going to be a PlayStation 5 launch time, it was mentioned that it will make the PS5 launch window. So it shouldn’t be too much longer after the next-generation console is released until we’re able to play it. It still blows my mind that there will be zero level loads in this game.

This is right up there with Spider-Man: Miles Morales as one of the first games I want to play, whenever I get my PlayStation 5 that is.
