Streets of Rage 4 set to be released SOON, retro characters are in

Streets of Rage 4 5th player announcement and release date-01.png

The wait is almost over my fellow fans of Streets of Rage 4. According to the publisher, the game is slated to be released very soon for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

The game is priced at $24.99 and is only available as a digital download unless you’ve purchased the Limited Run physical edition (I did).  I can’t wait to get my hands on this game again, as my time at PAX East 2020 was way too short.

Apparently, there was a listing for the game to be released on April 23rd, 2020, but that has been CONFIRMED TO BE INCORRECT.

Update: While we posted the new info, we were provided with some clarification on that. The original music from Streets 1 and 2 will be included. While the unlockable characters will retain all of their original movesets and specials unique to them. This includes the ability to sprint and roll for Streets of Rage 3 characters.

There’s also a snazzy new trailer that announces some new info on the game. Which includes 12 unlockable and playable characters; yes past characters are in. Now you can play as Max, Shiva, Zan, Skate or several others! Don’t like the new art style, well now you can play as the original spites now. Or yeah, and the original Streets of Rage tunes are also in the game. See, this is the stuff that they didn’t want to tell us at PAX East 2020… you sly dogs, you.

You can wishlist Streets of Rage 4 for the PC right now, here.
