Reggie Fils-Aime Joins GameStop’s Board Of Directors

By Todd BlackMarch 9, 2020
Reggie Fils-Aime Nintendo of America

Not so long ago, Nintendo was dealt a huge blow when the one and only Reggie Fils-Aime retired from his position as President of Nintendo of America to go and spend some time with his family. In the time since, he’s appeared at a few places like The Game Awards, taught at Cornell University, and has gotten quite the following on Twitter. Which was perfect, because with it he announced his new job…as part of the Board of Directors for GameStop.

The gaming industry needs a healthy and vibrant @GameStop. I look forward to being a part of @GameStopCorp Board and helping to make this happen. https://t.co/pYWFGZ9XKj

The appointment is to help drive business in a more positive direction for the company, and it’s one of many shifts that are going on to try and help the business, connect with gamers, and more.

This is appropriate because when it comes right down to it, GameStop is a bit of a joke in terms of treating fans fairly. You all know doubt know the “deals” they make when buying back games, and the complaints about customer service ar legendary too.

Perhaps with Reggie at the helm in certain ways things can get better. You know that Reggie Fils-Aime will put all he has into his new job, and it’ll be very curious to see just how long he stays with the company in this role.
