Yakuza Games Coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2020

By Diego PerezNovember 14, 2019
Yakuza 6 - Oh Yeah

Heavy-hitting announcements just keep coming out of X019. Yakuza, a franchise that has called PlayStation its home since the series began in 2005, is finally coming to Xbox in early 2020. Check out the trailer showcasing Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 below.

We here at The Outerhaven are all huge Yakuza fans, and we’re glad that more people will finally get a chance to play these excellent games. The three games shown in the trailer will be hitting Xbox Game Pass when they launch next year.

Last year’s Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is notably absent from the trailer despite releasing before Kiwami 2 and running on the same engine. Not only that, but there isn’t any news about the recently announced Yakuza Remastered Collection containing upscaled versions of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 making its way to Xbox as of yet.

Hopefully the entire series ends up on Xbox One at some point, including next year’s Yakuza 7, or Yakuza: Like a Dragon as it’s known here in the states.

In other exciting X019 news, Rare showed off its newest IP, Everwild, and Obsidian showed off a brand-new survival game called Grounded. Ninja Theory’s Bleeding Edge got a release date and a beta date as well.

When he's not playing video games, Diego's talking about video games, and he does both a lot.
