Between Two Ferns: The Movie’s crazy first trailer is here

By Robert DolenSeptember 4, 2019

The bonkers celebrity interview web series ‘Between Two Ferns’ starring Zach Galifianakis is getting a full-length feature, courtesy of Netflix.

The film’s first trailer was released today, and it’s about as silly as the internet show, but dialed up to 11. Matthew McConaughey dies, but doesn’t actually. Or does he? Regardless, thanks to bad plumbing and bad publicity, Zach’s talk show is going to get cancelled unless he goes on some kind of cross-country adventure to complete a whole new season of ‘Between Two Ferns’ with new guests.

The trademark interview awkwardness is back, with moments of absurdity from a road-trip comedy spliced in between filming as Zach struggles to keep his show on the air. Luckily he has host of celebrity guests gracing the film with their presences. Pair that with Galifianakis’ clever and erratic comedy style, and we’ve got a whole lot more Between Two Ferns coming at us all at once.

He’s got a packed house too, with celebrity cameos including: Keanu Reeves, Jon Hamm, David Letterman, Brie Larson, Rashida Jones, Tessa Thompson, Paul Rudd, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tiffany Haddish, Hailee Steinfeld, Chrissy Teigen and even more after that.

Even if the parts in between may not be the same, I’m just glad we’re getting even more ‘Between Two Ferns’ interviews.

‘Between Two Ferns: The Movie’ premieres on September 20, only on Netflix.

I'm Rob Dolen, not to be confused with Bob Dole! That's alright, I get it all the time. I play too much Super Smash Bros. competitively, but when I'm not doing that I play pretty much everything else under the video game sun.
