Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection officially announced for consoles and PC

Update: Now that the cat is out the bag, Capcom has officially announced the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection.

Ready your Z-Saber and prepare to megamerge as old friends and new heroes from the Mega Man universe unite in Mega Man™ Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. All four Mega Man Zero games, Mega Man ZX, and Mega Man ZX Advent are being offered together for the first time on the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Switch system, and Steam. The collection will be available at MSRP $29.99 on January 21, 2020 both digitally and at North American retail locations for consoles. PC players will be able to purchase the digital edition on Steam.

Original story:

Mega Man fans have been asking Capcom many questions over the years. One of which was “When are we going to see a Mega Man Zero Collection“.

Well, we can stop asking as news of a Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection has been leaked ahead of time. This time by the Hong Kong PlayStation Store. Oops! Thanks to the discovery by Twitter user @Bam, we can see the glory of this collection.

If you try to access the link while logged into your PlayStation account, it will error out. Either log out or try a privacy mode/incognito tab or window to access it.

Hey @Nibellion @Wario64 a listing for Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection just popped up on the PS store. This is straight from my PS4. pic.twitter.com/RUO0YV1X5O

As the screenshot depicts, this collection will include the following titles;

  • Mega Man Zero 1
  • Mega Man Zero 2
  • Mega Man Zero 3
  • Mega Man Zero 4
  • Mega Man ZX
  • Mega Man ZX Advent

So far, this has only appeared on the HK PlayStation website. I’ve checked the HK and Japanese Xbox One websites and there’s no mention of them as of yet. Which only makes me believe that this wasn’t supposed to be shown quite yet. Likely this was going to be announced at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show which takes place on 9/12/2019 – 9/15/2019. Oh well, this is still amazing news.

Every Mega Man Zero title has been confined to the Nintendo Gameboy, Nintendo DS, and WII U Virtual Console. And while this has only been confirmed for the PS4 so far, I can’t imagine that this also won’t come to the Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Just like the Mega Man X Legacy Collection was.

There’s a number of enhancements, such as filters, a gallery, every single game soundtrack, ability to emulate the dual screens from the Nintendo DS. A new casual mode that won’t punish players from dying and a new save-assist feature that lets you save mid-stage.  That’s not all as there’s a new mode called “Z Chaser”, which looks like a time attack mode.

The Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection releases for the PlayStation 4 in Hong Kong on Jan. 22nd, 2020. So far this is only confirmed for Hong Kong, but we can’t see it staying this way for long.

Now, I wonder how long it will be before a Mega Man Starforce or Mega Man Battle Network collection will be released.
