The time has finally come! During Disney’s D23 2026, Marvel has revealed the first members of it’s cast for the long-awaited X-Men movie.
Of course, Sadie Sink returns as Jean Grey, the role she first played in the recent Spider-Man: Brand New Day. She will be joined by Kit Connors who will play Scott Summers aka Cyclops, Christopher Abbot as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm and Inde Navarrette as Rogue.
That wasn’t all, we also got confirmation that Adam Driver will take on the role of Mr sinister. Obviously, there are some notable characters missing from the cast so far, including Magneto, Gambit and of course the iconic Wolverine, among others.

However, based on the age of actors taking up the roles announced so far. It’s possible that some characters like Gambit may not join the team until later movies. Although I would be disappointed if that ends up being the case.
With that being said, the goal here clearly seems to be a younger X-Men team that can age appropriately over time and grow with the audience. There is no reason to think that Marvel isn’t aiming for these actors to play these characters for more than a decade. Just look at Robert Downey Jr who played the role of Iron Man between 2008 and 2019.
While I do have some reservation over certain casting choices here, the overall ensemble is strong for a franchise reboot. Assuming the on-screen chemistry is right, then this cast could quickly become the stars of the MCU moving forward. BUT if that chemistry isn’t there, then we have a real problem.
Marvel has promised more news about the movie soon, and given its May 2028 scheduled release date. Hopefully we don’t have to wait to long to be introduced to the rest of the cast.
