It’s finally official. Microsoft’s next-generation of console, code-named Project Scarlett is getting a holiday 2020 release date. Thanks to the recent Xbox E3 2019 briefing, Microsoft has provided some much-needed information regarding the console.

According to the trailer, Scarlett will be Microsoft’s most powerful console. That’s also in comparison to the most powerful gaming console, the Xbox One X, as Scarlett will be 4x as powerful. Just think about that for a moment. Not only that, but the next-gen console will also utilize a new SSD that will help reduce buffering. 8K capability, the ability to run at 120 frames per second and Variable Refresh Rate. While not mentioned during the briefing, the Scarlett is powered by a custom AMD processor (Zen 2) and sports GDDR6 memory.

Finally, Scarlet will also leverage Microsoft’s cloud (Azure), to connect players across multiple devices and platforms.

The last bit of news is that Halo Infinite will launch with the Scarlet. That’s an amazing announcement and if you weren’t excited for Scarlett prior to the show, I’d love to know what you think about it now.
