Final Trailer for ‘Stranger Things 3’ Gives Us a Glimpse of the Monsters

By Sara Roncero-MenendezJune 21, 2019

As the days draw closer and closer to Independence Day, we are eagerly await the next season of the epic supernatural adventure Stranger Things. But when you think back to the trailers we’ve seen before, can you recall getting a good idea as to what they’d be facing this time around? Well, the final trailer gives us that answer and it’s super creepy:

So it turns out that whatever is lurking in the Upside Down can talk, whether it’s through Eleven’s perception, something it learned to do when it crossed over into our world, or an ability it always had. We also see that Billy is going to be possessed by the monster of the Upside Down, though we don’t know for how long. We also see that the town is about to be invaded by a giant Upside Down creature, and that it’s going to trap our band of heroes inside of the newly opened mall.

Other glimpses we get are of Eleven and Will finally having a real heart-to-heart about the Upside down, as well as a scene of Eleven with Hooper, where it’s clear that they’ve grown as a family. Also, is it just me, or does it look like the production got a big boost in the quality special effects production? The trailer really highlights just how good this season looks.

The ultimate question seems to be how will Eleven and the rest get this monster out of Hawkins before it can destroy everything? And if this isn’t the final season, which there has been no indication that it is, what are they going to bring out for Stranger Things 4? We’ll just have to wait a few more weeks to see how it all plays out.

Stranger Things 3 premieres on Netflix on July 4, 2019.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
