Borderlands 3 To Release On September 13 2019, Exclusive To The Epic Games Store For 6 Months

borderlands 3

Well, after the last few days of rumors being tossed around regarding Borderlands 3. The confirmed info has been released, both the September 13, 2019 release date for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Yes, the PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. We saw the earlier tweet that was deleted that dropped this info before, but we wanted to wait until we had actual confirmation.

A Gameplay Reveal Event is scheduled for May 1st. As the name suggests, we’ll get some actual gameplay from this event and possibly more. We’ll update where you’ll be able to watch this when we find out more.

So, let’s address the elephant in the room. Yes, it’s on the Epic Games Store and as you know, I don’t agree with the tactics that Epic Games is using. That said, if you’re a fan of the game then get the game. Not buying the game won’t hurt Epic Games as much as it would hurt Gearbox Software. This decision to publish to EGS was the sole decision of 2K Interactive, not Gearbox Software. Thankfully, it does appear that the exclusivity window is only 6 months instead of the year we originally thought. Meaning Borderlands 3 will be available everywhere else in April 2020.

Or you could just skip the PC version (gasp!) altogether.  That’s your call, we’re just reporting on the news. As for me, yes, I’m still getting it for PC. I’m supporting the devs.

There’s also several different editions of the game, ranging from $59.99 for the standard. Up to $249.99 for the really serious Borderland fans.

Borderlands 3 Standard Edition – $59.99
The Borderlands 3 Standard Edition includes the base game and a pre-order bonus that includes the Gold weapon skins & weapon trinket.
