Persona 5 The Royal Unveiled ; New Female Character Shown

By William "Shadowz" KokMarch 23, 2019

It finally has a name.

The teased Persona 5 R is now unveiled as Persona 5 The Royal. ATLUS then further teased a new female character in a new trailer and that the next major announcement will be on April 24, 2019. This is the same day as the Persona Live Concert that is being held.

Don’t you just love announcements for announcements?

Here is the transcript of the trailer:

“What are your thoughts on the Phantom Thieves?”

New female character: “It’s wonderful thing to help other people… but if I had to say, I don’t like them. I just have a feeling that the way the Phantom Thieves doesn’t help fix the world or help anyone. In the end, I think those are things you must fix yourself.”

At first look, I thought of the possibility of a Female Main Character (FeMC) that we can play as, similar to Persona 3 Portable. But as soon as that was said, seems to be a bit unlikely. Theories are floating that perhaps you will join the opposite side? Are you playing a separate story/ Point of View?  What is the role that she plays? She shares some similarities in appearance to Persona 3 Portable Female Main Character.

So many questions, but overall what does this mean and what is Persona 5 The Royal? Guess we’ll just have to wait in a months time on April 24.

Persona 5: The Royal is in development for PlayStation 4.
