Games With Gold April 2019: Star Wars, Ghost Recon, and More

March is coming to a close, which means it’s time to look at next month’s free Games With Gold. April is headlined by Star Wars Battlefront II, and there are some underrated gems included as well.

Star Wars Battlefront II (the good one from 2005, not the EA one) is free to download from April 1 through April 15. Enjoy space combat, lightsaber duels, and a great soundtrack straight out of the films in this original Xbox classic. Unlike the PlayStation 2 version, the Xbox version supports up to four players in split screen multiplayer, so grab some friends and play some Galactic Conquest.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 was just made backwards compatible on Xbox One today, and it’ll be free for Xbox Live Gold members to download starting April 16. This tactical shooter captures the essence of what a Tom Clancy game is, requiring planning and coordination to succeed. Work with your squad to complete objectives, battling not only enemies but also a dynamic weather system and rough terrain.

The Technomancer is an action RPG that flew under most people’s radar when it released back in 2016. While it was criticized for a lack of polish, it was praised for its fantastic world and characters. Xbox Live Gold members will have a chance to jump into this BioWare-esque story starting April 1.

Outcast: Second Contact is a remake of the classic PC adventure game from 1999. Explore a strange, alien world and make choices that have a true impact on the world and its people when Outcast: Second Contact  becomes available for Xbox Live Gold members on April 16.

Here’s the full list of titles and dates:

  • The Technomancer: Available April 1 to 30 on Xbox One
  • Star Wars Battlefront II: Available April 1 to 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
  • Outcast: Second Contact: Available April 16 to May 15 on Xbox One
  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2: Available April 16 to 31 on Xbox One and Xbox 360

When he's not playing video games, Diego's talking about video games, and he does both a lot.
