An Open Beta Has Been Confirmed For The Division 2

Hot off this past weekend of The Division 2‘s private beta, that was only accessible by winning the key lottery or preordering the game. Ubisoft has already set in motion their plans for the next beta, an open beta that which will be available to everyone.

This next beta will start on March 1st and will run until March 4th, 2019. It will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Initializing sequence: Open Beta coming for all players, March 1 – 4.

So what can you expect in this upcoming beta? That’s a good question, as Ubisoft hasn’t stated how different the open beta will be from the private beta. What I can tell you is that there was a huge amount of bugs and glitches discovered during the private beta. Some of which I sent in myself and Ubisoft has stated they are committed to fixing those issues.

So it’s a safe bet that those problems that were reported, will be wiped out come the open beta. Then we’ll just get to do it all over again – which is what a beta is for.

As for my thoughts about The Division 2, well that’s a mixed bag. I enjoyed the private beta, especially the tweaked gunplay. Being able to experience some of the endgame was also a nice touch and I’m glad to see that Massive and Ubisoft have different plans this time around. However, the game still feels like an expansion of the first game and I didn’t feel that there was really anything that screams “I’m new”.

Don’t get me wrong, it was definitely fun getting my butt handed to me and running through missions with my friends. I’ve already pre-ordered the game, and I’ll be playing day one. I just want more. Then that’s also what a beta is for. We’ll just have to wait and see what is added for the open beta.

The Division 2 releases on March 15, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Are you picking up that game and if so, on what platform?
