I’m sure there’s more than a few people who are looking forward to Bioware and EA’s upcoming loot shooter Anthem. Myself included. That said, EA just sent word regarding the upcoming VIP and Open demos.

Starting on Jan. 25, 2019, the Anthem VIP demo will start and will last until Jan. 27, 2019. It will be available for EA Access and Origin Access subscribers, and anyone who pre-ordered the title. They’ll be the first gamers to check out the title. Followed up by the open demo that will be available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Feb. 1 through Feb. 3, 2019.

It’s time for the fans to get their hands on Anthem and experience it for themselves. We truly hope they enjoy this taste of flying and fighting in this brand-new world our team has been crafting for many years. –Mike Gamble, Lead Producer for Anthem

In Anthem, gamers will have a chance to board powerful exo-suits and explore a brand new world full of dangers and wonders. Bioware’s first original IP in years looks to be something that will cater to fans of the loot-based shooter. That means games such as The Division and Destiny 2 will be looking at this new title with anticipation.

The game will also feature microtransactions, but only for cosmetic purposes. There is no play to win or anything that would give anyone an advantage over anyone else. I know people were wondering about that ever since that Star Wars: Battlefront II situation. Looks like EA wants none of that, so don’t worry about that.

Anthem will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 22, 2019. Are you looking forward to the game like I am? Let us know in the comments!
