The Surge is getting a Wild West themed expansion

By Keith MitchellSeptember 6, 2018
The surge - the good the bad and the augemented

It’s the wild west out there

The Surge, Deck 13’s “Scifi Souls” title that places you in an exoskeleton that enables you to wreck all sort of havoc, is getting a new expansion. Called “The Good, The Bad and the Augmented”, this new expansion has you attempting to beat several different trials in a secret Creo lab.

I’m glad they finally announced this, as I had a chance to play in the testing for this. However, since I was bound by an NDA, I couldn’t talk about the upcoming add-on. Not any longer, I’m free to speak. The way this works is that in this secret lab, you’ll be directed by Dr. Rischboter to attempt to better several test chambers. These chambers are stages full of enemies and traps, such as a moving train, all designed to end your life.

Of course, should you make it then you’ll be treated to a boss fight. Which you may or may not have encountered before in The Surge. Only this time, they have some new abilities and to make matters worse, you only get limited tries to beat them. Or it’s back to the beginning for you.

What would a new expansion be without new loot? Here you’ll find new weapons, some new gear and really nifty cosmetic upgrades. There’s a lot of cool stuff to be found, some only if you’re up to the challenge.

The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented is expected to launch on October 2, 2018, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you haven’t played The Surge yet, be sure to check out our review of it here, and the DLC “Walk in the Part”, here.
