Nintendo Labo Has Sold Over A Million Units

By Todd BlackJuly 31, 2018
Nintendo Labo

Nintendo has been known for going outside of the box to make its next big hit. But with the Nintendo Labo, they actually used the box. The cardboard creation peripheral notion seemed ludicrous at first, but as Nintendo showed it off more, and gave the people a chance to create their own used for it, it got really popular. And now, with the Q1 2018 financial results, we have a notion of how well it did.

If you call, the Labo released in late April (on the 20th no less), and according to Nintendo, it’s done well:

We also released Nintendo Labo in April as an offering of new ways to play that gained a lot of attention globally, and was very well received by consumers who purchased it. Sales of Nintendo Labo series overall reached 1.39 million units.

That’s pretty impressive, especially given the uniqueness of it. But hey, if it works, it works, right?
