Detroit: Become Human Releases May 25th

By VeronicaMarch 1, 2018

After a long period of silence, Quantic Dream has finally announced a release date for Detroit: Become Human, and it’s surprisingly soon – May 25th.

The game follows three androids – Kara, the star of the 2012 tech demo from Quantic Dream which inspired the premise of Detroit; Connor, an android investigator; and Markus, the leader of an android revolution. Markus is also prominently featured on the (terrifying) official cover art for the game.

Detroit: Become Human

With the game following three separate protagonists, it seems Detroit will be much more like Heavy Rain than Beyond: Two Souls. Players will alternate between the three characters and make decisions that will influence the outcome of the story. David Cage writes:

With this game, we wanted to push our limits by creating the most bending game we have ever made. Your actions have real and spectacular consequences: there are entire scenes that you can see or miss based on your actions, your closest allies may help you until the end or die just after you meet them, your destiny itself can be totally different depending on your choices. You must also be very careful with your three main characters, because any of them may die at any time.

Cage clearly has high hopes for Detroit, and seeing as it has been nearly five years since the release of Quantic Dream’s last game, Beyond: Two Souls, expectations are high. With God of War releasing April 20th, Detroit in May, and unannounced release dates on Spider-Man and Days Gone, we could be looking at a full slate of PS4 exclusives in the coming months.
