Super Smash Bros. Trademark Filed By Nintendo

By Todd BlackNovember 13, 2017

Since the launch (and success) of the Nintendo Switch, certain things were obvious to the fanbase. First, that certain games would arrive on it within the year (like Splatoon 2, Mario, ARMS), but also, that there would be other classic Nintendo franchises coming at some point. One of the biggest ones that fans are eager to see though is Super Smash Bros.

The popular fighting game has been a best-seller ever since it launched on the N64, and subsequent versions have only made it more larger than life. Last generation had two versions even, one for Wii U, and one for 3DS. And now, it seems we can confirm that Nintendo is indeed working on it. For as Japanese Nintendo reports, the company has filed for several trademarks, and one of them is for Super Smash Bros.

There has been some worry about whether the trademark is for a “deluxe” version like what happened with Pokken Tournament and Mario Kart 8, but the longer we get from the Switch’s launch, the less likely that seems.

So now, the question is, when will it release? Also, what new features can we expect from it? And of course, what new characters will arrive?

Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
