Little Busters! Launches on Steam November 1

By Josh PiedraOctober 11, 2017

It was announced by Visual Arts’ official Twitter account that the acclaimed visual novel, Little Busters!, from KEY will be releasing on Steam on November 1. Little Busters! is KEY’s sixth visual novel game alongside classics such as Air, Kanon and Clannad.

The English release will come with a myriad of features including the following:

  • Little Busters! EX Perfect Edition Content
  • Revamped graphics for the original Little Busters! including an HD 1280 x 720 resolution
  • 4:3 Ratio Support
  • Alternate between English and Japanese text
  • Touch Screen Support

The game originally launched in Japan in 2007 and has received two television anime adaptations which aired in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Sentai Filmworks is currently selling both seasons of the anime in North America.

Visual Arts announced in 2015 that they would create an English port of Little Busters! and that the translations would be based on fan translations. Visual Arts recently hosted a crowdfunding campaign for a spinoff series based on the Kud Wafter character. The campaign reached the final stretch goal and will be receiving a theatrical anime release some time in the future.

The game will retail on Steam for $34.99 USD.

MyAnimeList.net describes the story of Little Busters! as follows:

As a child, Riki Naoe shut himself from the world, thanks to a diagnosis of narcolepsy following the tragic deaths of his parents. However, Riki is saved when, one fateful day, a boy named Kyousuke recruits him into a team who call themselves the Little Busters. Accompanied by Masato, Kengo, and Rin, these misfits spend their childhood fighting evil and enjoying their youth. Years pass, and even in high school, the well-knit teammates remain together.

Kyousuke decides to re-ignite the Little Busters by forming a baseball team as it will be his last school year with them. They have a problem though: there aren’t enough members! The tables have turned, for it is now Riki’s turn to reach out and recruit new friends into the Little Busters, just like Kyousuke had once done for him. Then, an omen surfaces—Rin finds a strange letter attached to her cat, assigning them the duty of uncovering the “secret of this world” by completing specific tasks. Just what is this secret, and why is it being hidden? It’s up to the Little Busters to find out!
