Project Octopath Traveler Releasing In Spring 2018?

By Todd BlackSeptember 19, 2017
Project Octopath Traveler Octopath Traveler Review Nintendo Switch

Square Enix has been showing a lot of love and support for the Nintendo Switch since launch, and arguably the biggest title it’s bringing to the console (so far) is the exclusive title Project Octopath Traveler. The game will feature 8 different characters with 8 different stories to tell. All the while being a stunning game visually, mixing 2D, 3D, sprites, and other forms of art together into one title.

The game has been getting a lot of buzz since Nintendo and Square Enix released a short demo for it (check out Will’s impression of it here!). For the most part, players seem to like it, and are eager to get the game. So, when is it releasing? Well, if Nintendo UK is to be believed, it could be next Spring.

In a post on their official site, they talk about Project Octopath Traveler’s demo, and note that the game will release in “Spring 2018”. That seems a bit too specific to just be thrown into there, especially since Nintendo themselves only said 2018 in the recent Nintendo Direct that revealed the demo.

If this is true, it would be a big boon for the Switch in the early part of the year, as we’re still uncertain of what Nintendo will release in the opening months, though Kirby Star Allies has been slated for that period too.

We’ll just have to wait and see if this gets confirmed by Nintendo or Square.
