A Walk In The Park Is The Surge’s Upcoming DLC

By Keith MitchellAugust 24, 2017
The Surge

You may remember that during E3 2017, we conducted an interview with Deck 13 Interactive regarding their recent release, The Surge. During that review, it was stated that the game would see a new DLC campaign later this year, but the company wasn’t ready to talk about it. Well, during Gamescom 2017, they’re spilling the beans and it’s good news.

This new DLC is called “A Walk in the Park”, which is funny because it likely won’t be anything but that. Set in a new area, an amusement park no less, this new DLC will provide new areas to check out, more storyline and of course, some sweet gear to acquire. I can only imagine what sort of stuff the team has planned by having this take place in an amusement park.  The game will also introduce a new character called Carbon Cat, who happens to be the enemy of Iron Maus.

Those who’ve played the game will know that you’re able to acquire the Iron Maus suit in the game if you collect five items needed to unlock it. I don’t how this is going to play out, but it sounds interesting. That and I loved the Iron Maus suit, especially since it’s a play off of the original Iron Man suit.

In addition to the new campaign will be a free weapons pack that will provide several new attacking options. I hope that means that we’ll see a projectile attack. In the original game, the only way we had a ranged weapon was the drone and the Judge 2.0 weapon (when you had the energy).

The “Walk in the Park” DLC will be released later this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Be sure to expect our review on this DLC as soon as we get our hands on it. In fact, while you’re waiting, why not check out our review of The Surge here. Here’s a spoiler, I loved the game!
