SDCC 2017 – New Trailer for “Stranger Things” Season 2 Shows More Creepiness to Come

By Sara Roncero-MenendezJuly 22, 2017

The gods of San Diego Comic Con are generous, for we have received yet another trailer for the breakout hit of last summer, Stranger Things.

https://youtu.be/vgS2L7WPIO4

As we see, Will is not doing so well – he keeps transitioning in the Upside Down and he is haunted by his experience there. He also has been sequestered by the same shady lab that did the experiments on Eleven. Meanwhile Mike is missing Eleven, who seems to be alive in the Upside Down. The new season will take place during Halloween, some ten months after the first season, and the crew dresses up like the Ghostbusters and seem to catch something in their trap. Of course, we don’t see any justice for everyone’s favorite dead tragic nerd Barb yet, but I’m sure the creators will make good on their word.

The trailer itself has some amazing 1980s references, like Dragon’s Lair and the masterpiece that is “Thriller.” Red scary lightning be damned, the amazing references are going to be the highlight of the season. Though it looks like the show is about to get a lot darker from here, and all of our favorite characters are in danger from what lurks in the Upside Down. It’s going to be a real Halloween treat when it comes out

Stranger Things Season 2 premieres on Netflix on October 27, 2017.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
