Marvel’s The Defenders Official Trailer Gives Us A Much Awaited Team-Up

Marvel’s The Defenders – Official Trailer

https://vid.me/6nO8

The day is here — the big team show that everyone has been waiting for since it was announced finally has a trailer. The Defenders takes the heroes from the four Netflix Marvel shows, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, to take on the Hand as they continue to try and take over New York, and soon, the world. We see Jessica Jones in jail having killed a man with Matt Murdock as her lawyer, Luke Cage coming back from jail, and the Iron Fist running around New York. How the four will come together, and what part the amazingly talented Sigourney Weaver will play, however, is anyone’s guess at this point.

Let’s be real here – no one cares about the Hand. They are vague, useless, and kind of nonthreatening given how little they seem to have a grasp on anything. What everyone is going to be coming for is seeing how these four universes finally link up together, and it seems like the trailer knows that. We also see Claire Temple, still the romantic partner of Luke Cage, Colleen Wing, Stick, Misty Knight, and the potentially revived Elektra. There looks like tons of action to be had, with each of these different fighting styles working together. The small bits of interactions between our main four characters are as awesome as we’d hoped, with Jones’s snark playing off of Rand’s excited sincerity, the calm quiet of Cage resonating with Murdock’s seriousness. Hopefully, Weaver’s character Alexandra will be a worthy threat for New York’s strong, and most dysfunctional, heroes. Until then, at least we have the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Spiderman: Homecoming movies to keep us busy in the early part of the summer.

The Defenders will premiere on Netflix on August 18, 2017.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
