Ed Officially Joins The Street Fighter V Roster

By Keith MitchellMay 8, 2017

Previously the next Street Fighter V character to be announced was leaked. It was actually an official leak as it was posted over on the PlayStation Online Store. That was all corrected but It was too late of course. The damage was done and the news quickly spread across the internet. That character was Ed.

Today, Capcom has officially announced Ed as the next Street Fighter V roster addition. Gamers will remember during Balrog’s Ultra Street Fighter IV’s ending, he saves a young child. That child was Ed and as you can see from the video, it seems that Balrog has trained him well.

Now, Ed, well he’s really interesting, to say the least. He’s a mixture of Balrog with the boxing attacks, M.Bison with the psycho-power abilities and even some kick attacks. So not only have we gotten another boxing character in the Street Fighter series (Balrog and Dudley), but also another winning character design.

Players will be able to get their hands on Ed during the Capcom Fighters Network beta (May 11th-14th). And while Ed isn’t available to play outside of the beta just yet, he’ll be available to everyone who picked up the Street Fighter V season pass ($29.99).
